2025-2026 District Board

District Executives

District Governor
Sneha Shah

Picture
Hello Capital Crabs!

My name is Sneha Shah, and I’m beyond excited to be serving as
your 2025–2026 Capital District Key Club Governor! I’m currently
a senior at Tabb High School and attend the Governor’s School
for Science and Technology. I previously served as the lieutenant
governor of Division 12B and at-large for Division 14, where I had
the opportunity to help rebuild a disconnected division,
reactivate clubs, and uplift our members. I am a member of
Kiwanis Mental Health Taskforce and have been actively involved
with district initiatives like mental health advocacy, hosting

This term, I’m especially excited to support our Governor’s Project: G.R.O.W with Nature—a beautiful initiative that combines service with sustainability. Whether it’s planting trees, starting school gardens, or organizing cleanups, this project gives us the chance to make a meaningful impact on our environment while growing closer as a community. Outside of Key Club, I stay busy with Robotics, Student Council, Model United Nations, Dance Club, and more! I’m also a huge fan of Bollywood, love cooking spicy food, soccer, and recently picked up skating (still working on not falling every five seconds!). And yes—I speak four languages and understand many
more!

As Governor, my goal is to support you, whether that’s through communication, resources, or simply being someone to lean on. I believe our strength lies in our unity and our compassion—and I know that together, we’ll continue to create powerful, lasting change in our communities.

Feel free to reach out to me anytime through Instagram @sneha._.sah or email at [email protected]. I’m always here to help, support, or even just chat.

District Editor
Kate Lee

Picture
Hi Capital Crabs!

My name is Kate, and I’m so honored to be serving as your district
editor this year! I’m a rising senior at George C. Marshall High
School and have been in Key Club for all four years. I started my
journey as a class representative in my freshman year, and have
worn many hats since then, serving as a club editor, member representative on the International Translations Taskforce, district
UNICEF Champion, and, most recently, the lieutenant governor of
Division 2D. Central to each of these roles was a deep commitment to service and opening up our organization to as many people as possible, both things I plan to bring with me into this new role!

As editor, my top two aims are to expand the reach of the Capital Key and truly empower members voices and experiences within it. To achieve the first, I plan to create translated one-pagers of each
issue to make the publication more linguistically accessible. I also want to expand the publication to a digital blog for more frequent updates that all members can easily view. To achieve the second, my goal
is to open up opportunities for members to directly contribute articles to the Key. The Capital Key is a quarterly publication that informs you on everything going on in the Capital District, so be sure to keep
an eye out for when the first issue releases!

District Secretary/Treasurer
Soha Mahapatra

Picture
My name is Soha Mahapatra, and I’m looking forward to serving
as your Capital District Secretary-Treasurer for the upcoming Key
Club year! I can’t wait to connect with all of you, and work with
members throughout our district to enhance our impact across
our communities.

To tell you a bit more about myself, I’m currently a senior at
Marriotts Ridge High School, as well as junior team lead of the
Howard County Academy of Finance. Regarding my past
experience, this past Key Club year I was the Division 4B lieutenant governor, and the year before that treasurer of Marriotts Ridge Key Club. Additionally, I served on the Member Services Committee during
my term as lieutenant governor, a role in which I aided the development of promotional and membership retention materials. From improving the membership retention rate in my home club, all the way to
planning Division Council Meetings for Division 4B, I can’t wait to channel my Key Club experiences into making the Capital District a better and more impactful place for each and every member.
Outside of Key Club, I’m always looking for opportunities to serve my community, such as volunteering through National Honors Society and National Spanish Honors Society, as well as working as a student
dance teacher at the Indian Classical Dance academy that I’ve been attending for eight years. I’m also part of a multitude of school clubs, including Model United Nations, Future Business Leaders, Economics
Club, and South Asian Club. When I’m not volunteering via clubs or 501c3s, I’m usually spending time with friends and family, especially at local shops and restaurants.

I am so looking forward to working with all of you as I enter my fourth year in Key Club and start my term as District Secretary-Treasurer. I will work for accessibility to important resources, streamlining due
management and record keeping, and empowerment of all club officers for a more effective district overall. But to make all this happen, I need the input of all perspectives within our diverse district, so feel
free to reach out via email ([email protected]).

District Webmaster
Hazim Ahmad

Picture
Hi, Capital Crabs!

My name is Hazim Ahmad, and I’m truly honored to serve as your 2025–2026 Capital District Webmaster. I’m a rising senior at Northern High School in Owings, Maryland, and I’ve been passionate about Key Club since my freshman year. I started my journey by serving as the lieutenant governor for Division 3C. During that year, I worked hard to revive inactive clubs and strengthen our division. However, after the Capital District went through redivisioning, Division 3C lost many of those newly revived clubs. To help our division bounce back, I stepped up to serve a second term as LTG. During that time, I focused on rebuilding connections, improving communication with Kiwanis, and supporting clubs to make our division even stronger.

As webmaster, I’ll be managing the district website and social media accounts. My goals for this year are to enhance communication across the district, develop new resources for the website, and place a stronger emphasis on building Kiwanis-family connections. So make sure you're following the Capital District Instagram @kccrabs to stay updated on all new posts.

Outside of Key Club, I’m involved in Debate, MESA, Student Government, and the National Honor Society. In my free time, I enjoy playing card games, riding my bike, and watching sitcoms. I’m so excited to serve you all this year and can’t wait to help make this a memorable and impactful year for the Capital District!
Feel free to reach out to me anytime through Instagram @hazmad.13 or by email at [email protected]. I’m always here to support you in any way I can—so don’t hesitate to reach out, whether it’s something big or small.

Hey, Key Clubbers!

I am a rising Junior at Washington High School in Charles Town, WV. I have been a member of Kiwanis since third grade, going on 9 years now, and I have served as LTG for two years. Outside of Key Club, I am also passionate about the environment and love to spend time in the outdoors. For the past two years I've been a member of my school's swim team and I am VP of our chapter of the National Honor Society. I also march sousaphone in the band and am a member of our Gender-Sexuality-Alliance club.
