District Governor
Kayla Holloman
Hello Capital,
My name is Kayla Holloman and I am the 2024-2025 Key Club Capital District Governor. I am honored to have this amazing opportunity to serve our district this year! I am a rising senior at Washington High School in Charles Town, West Virginia. I have been in the Kiwanis Family since third grade, and it is my favorite aspect of my life! It has taught me many valuable lessons that I incorporate into my life daily and plan to continue using throughout the rest of my life. Community service is so important to me because of all of the impact I have been able to make on my community. As governor, I hope I get to share my love for service with everyone in our district to foster a collaborative environment between the clubs and the district. Previously, I have held 2 district board positions over the course of 3 years. In my freshman year of high school, I was given the opportunity to hold the position of District Project Chair on the West Virginia District Board! Then, when the Capital-West Virginia merge happened, I became the Lieutenant Governor of Division 8B, which was my home division. I held that position from the end of my freshman year until April of my junior year. Now, as governor, I am so excited for the service year! As governor, I plan to focus on the common theme of health. This includes the health of humans as well as the health of the environment. I want Key Club to be a positive environment for all members, so ensuring their health comes first will boost morale and lessen burnout. The environment’s health is just as important as the health of humans, so focusing on multiple aspects of our geographically diverse district will make a huge impact! This year is going to be a great one, and I can’t wait to see what great things the Capital District accomplishes! If you ever need to contact me, please DM my governor instagram account @cdkcgovernor. Grade: Senior Pronouns: she/her High School: Washington High School (WV) |
District Editor
Veronica Vitko
Hey Capital!
My name is Veronica Vitko and I am honored to serve as your Capital District Editor for the 2024-2025 service year! I am currently a junior at Albemarle High School in Division 9. I joined Key Club my freshman year of high school and since then I have served as the 10th grade representative and am serving as the vice president of my home club. Additionally I served as last year’s Division 9 Lieutenant Governor as well as on the District Convention and Events Committee! I hope to use the skills I have acquired thus far to help our district grow and foster an inclusive community. As District Editor my goal is to increase accessibility for members and grow the strength of our community by increasing the flow of information. I hope to expand the reach of the Capital Key by partnering with the translation committee, as well as transitioning into a web/blog format to increase readership. Additionally I will be highlighting service throughout the district to recognize the hard work of our members and promote new ideas for service! The Capital Key will be coming out every other month - so be on the lookout for that! Outside of Key Club, I am involved with sports such as volleyball, judo, jiu jitsu, and skiing, among others. I participate in many environmentally focused clubs (MAC, Enviorthon, Ocean Science Bowl) and love to spend my time outside. Over the summer, I also volunteer at UVA and am given the opportunity to be a part of an amazing community. I love listening to music, exploring new places, thrifting, and spending time with my friends! I cannot wait to connect with all of you! District Secretary/Treasurer
Olivia Ding
Hey Capital District!
My name is Olivia Ding, and I have the pleasure of serving as the Capital District Secretary Treasurer for the 2024-2025 service year. I am beyond excited to get to work with you all and learn more about each and every one of your clubs! I am a senior at Poolesville High School located in Poolesville, Maryland (about 45 minutes away from Washington, D.C.). I first got involved with Key Club when I co-founded my school’s chapter, and it has been the most rewarding experience ever since! Throughout my freshman, sophomore, and junior year, we hosted fundraisers to give back to our community, such as Thanksgiving Bags, Hot Cocoa Sales, and Shelter Packages, to name a few. We’ve donated funds to partners of Key Club International, like The Thirst Project and Erika’s Lighthouse! During the 2023-2024 service year, I also served as the Lieutenant Governor of Division 3A, leading division-wide service projects in collaboration with Charity Miles, FreeRice, and collecting canned goods at our Division Council Meetings (totaling 250 items) to be donated to a local homeless shelter! Beyond Key Club, I serve as the Forensics Team captain at my school, French Honor Society vice president, Student Government vice president, and an editor for the Literary Magazine. I am also the president of Students For Asylum and Immigration Reform (F.A.I.R.), a student-led non-profit dedicated to advocating for local, state, and national legislation in support of immigrants and refugees! In my spare time, you can find me listening to music, spending time with loved ones, and frequenting Depop as both a merchant and customer. Entering my fourth year in Key Club, I intend to utilize these previous leadership roles and experiences as a guidepost while serving as your District Sec-Tres; my #1 priority throughout my term is to share my seat with the District, providing a platform to uplift member voices and suggestions. I’m a firm believer in the power of collaboration, and know that together, we can make an impact on the world, whether it be large or small. I’m looking forward to an incredible year of service and growth–if you or your club need support, please do not hesitate to contact me on Instagram at @oliviadingg. Go Capital Crabs! District Webmaster
Bansi Bhimjiani
Hi, Capital Crabs!
My name is Bansi Bhimjiani, and I am honored to serve as your 2024-2025 Capital District Webmaster. I cannot wait for an incredible year filled with service! I am a senior at Mills E. Godwin High School in Glen Allen, Virginia. I have been involved with Key Club since my freshman year, and it has been one of the most rewarding experiences for me. In my freshman and sophomore years, I served as the treasurer and vice president of my home club. After this, I decided that I wanted to become more involved in Key Club; so, I served as a Lieutenant Governor and as Kiwanis Family Committee Chair of the Capital District. All of these opportunities have enhanced my Key Club values of leadership, character building, compassion, inclusiveness, and, most importantly, service! Now, as Capital District Webmaster, I truly have a role that will allow me to weave these values into a “full-circle” moment, which feels incredible. As webmaster, I am in charge of engaging the District's social media and website; this year, I will work to ensure that our online platforms reflect the heart and soul of Key Club, showcasing our accomplishments and inspiring others to join our cause. Outside of Key Club, I am president of HOSA (Health Occupations Students of America), which is an organization for students pursuing careers in the healthcare industry. In addition, I sell metal-stamped bracelets and string art to raise money for World Pediatrics, a non-profit organization focused on giving surgical care to children. You can also find me at swim practice (go breaststroke!), riding my bicycle, or spending time with family and friends. This year is going to be fantastic, filled with District events and service projects! Whether you need assistance with your service ideas or need help communicating with your local Kiwanis club, we are always here to help with a multitude of resources. Do not hesitate to contact me via Instagram at @bansibhimjiani with any questions. I am proud to serve as your Capital District Webmaster and a crab! Looking forward to a stellar year!
